Start with the examination you are targeting
UPSC CSE and State PSC examinations share some General Studies topics, but their papers, rules and state-specific requirements differ. Use one primary syllabus as your checklist. Add another examination only after identifying what extra preparation it requires.
Prepare Prelims and later stages deliberately
For Prelims, practise applying concepts to objective questions and review both incorrect answers and guesses. Keep CSAT in the weekly plan. For later written stages, practise explaining a topic with relevant evidence and a clear structure. Different formats need different practice.
Check dates and application instructions at the source
The UPSC 2026 record confirms that Prelims was held on 24 May 2026. The 2026 notification states that applications cannot be withdrawn after submission. Read the notification for your cycle and subsequent notices before applying. Earlier calendar estimates must not override an official update.
