RRB NTPC Syllabus, CBT Preparation & Official Notices
RRB NTPC covers Non-Technical Popular Categories. Graduate and undergraduate recruitments have their own Centralised Employment Notices, so the first preparation step is identifying the correct notice and post group. Then align practice with the stages and requirements it specifies.

Graduate and undergraduate NTPC notices
Use the Railway Recruitment Board's official employment-notice list to locate the right CEN. Read the qualification requirements, post list, examination stages and applicable skill or aptitude requirements. A paper pattern from one post group should not automatically be applied to every NTPC vacancy.
Keep the CEN number with saved notices and call letters. This avoids confusing updates for different recruitments that are running at the same time. Later corrigenda can change an earlier announcement.
Mathematics, reasoning and general awareness
Build mathematics around arithmetic concepts such as percentages, ratios, averages, time and work, and speed and distance. In reasoning, practise sequences, relationships and arrangements with careful attention to the conditions. In general awareness, combine basic concepts with relevant current events and revise regularly.
Use the official syllabus as the scope, and previous papers to understand the style of questions. Do not treat one practice provider's topic list as an official guarantee of weightage.
Original speed-and-distance example
Question: A train travels 180 km in 3 hours. What is its average speed in metres per second?
Solution: Average speed is 60 km/h. Multiply by 5/18 to convert to metres per second: 60 x 5/18 = 50/3, approximately 16.67 m/s.
This is an original practice example. Write the units at each step; confusing kilometres per hour with metres per second is a common source of a wrong final answer even when the arithmetic is correct.
A balanced NTPC study routine
Rotate mathematics, reasoning and general awareness through the week. Use short sets while learning, and mixed timed sets to practise changing between subjects. After each paper, identify whether low marks came from unknown topics, calculation errors or spending too long on a few questions.
Where the chosen post has an additional skill or aptitude requirement, plan for it early using the official notice. A strong general CBT score does not remove a separate qualifying requirement.
RRB NTPC questions answered
Are graduate and undergraduate notices interchangeable?
No. Check qualifications and post requirements in the relevant CEN.
Does every NTPC post have the same later test?
Use the post-specific selection requirements in the notice. Do not assume every post has a typing or aptitude test.
Where are reliable railway recruitment dates published?
On the official RRB websites and their CEN update pages. GoodPillars is a preparation resource, not an official recruiting board.
