TEACHING EXAMS
REET Level 1 & Level 2 Syllabus and Preparation
REET preparation should begin with the level you are eligible for and the teaching stage you want to target. Keep teacher eligibility separate from a subsequent recruitment examination. This guide refers to the published REET 2024 notice and should be checked against any newer notice for your cycle.

Choose Level 1 or Level 2
The referenced notice describes Level 1 for Classes I-V and Level 2 for Classes VI-VIII. It sets out the paper structure, subject components and eligibility conditions. Read those conditions directly before deciding which level to apply for.
Do not confuse REET with RPSC RAS or with every Rajasthan teacher recruitment examination. Different bodies and advertisements govern different posts. Use the name and notification number of your actual target on the front of your study plan.
Combine pedagogy with the relevant subjects
Organise revision into child development and pedagogy, languages and the subject content required for your level. Use the official syllabus to check coverage rather than relying only on a generic teaching-exam list.
For a primary-level topic, practise explaining the idea using concrete examples. For an upper-primary subject, work on both conceptual accuracy and how the concept connects to earlier learning. A useful note contains the key idea, a common misconception and a suitable classroom example.
Original pedagogy example
Question: Several pupils can recite a multiplication table but cannot solve a simple equal-groups problem. What should the teacher investigate?
Answer: Whether they connect the memorised facts with the meaning of equal groups. Counters or drawings can show their reasoning. More recitation alone may not address the conceptual gap.
This is an original learning example rather than a REET previous-year question. During practice, explain why the chosen teaching response addresses the observed difficulty.
A practical revision and paper-review method
Split the week between learning, recall and practice. After revising a subject, close the notes and explain the topic aloud or write a short summary. Then attempt a question set and return to the parts you could not explain.
Keep a log of misunderstood wording, subject gaps and pedagogy errors. Review language questions with the passage or grammatical context visible. Review pedagogy questions by naming the learning principle involved. Use a later session to retest old errors instead of endlessly expanding your notes.
REET preparation questions
Does qualifying REET itself guarantee appointment?
No. Eligibility and recruitment conditions must be checked separately for the post you want.
Can CTET preparation help?
There is useful overlap in pedagogy and school subjects. Use the REET syllabus and rules to identify the differences.
Is this a notice for a new REET application?
No. This is a preparation guide with a dated official reference. Check the Rajasthan Board's official notices for new announcements.
